Easy DIY Toothpaste Recipe
4 Tablespoons of coconut oil
4 Tablespoons of baking soda
10 drops of lemon essential oil
5 drops of peppermint essential oil
1 glass jar with a lid
Additional oil options: Clove, cinnamon or whatever scent/flavor you prefer. Feel free to adjust the essential oil types and amounts based on your liking. I prefer peppermint and lemon based on their antibacterial, antimicrobial and antiseptic properties. The flavor and freshness that comes with them are a great plus as well.
1) Place all ingredients in your glass jar and mix until a consistent paste is formed.
2) Cover with a lid when not in use and enjoy.
How to use
Insert toothbrush and apply desired amount of paste!
Mixing tip....the coconut oil is much easier to mix with the baking soda when it's in a liquid form. An easy way to do that is to set it on or near a stove top burner on low heat for just a few minutes and it should liquify.
This recipe is simple, effective and 100% free of any toxic ingredients. Your mouth, teeth and body will thank you and it's just as refreshing as any store-bought toothpaste...actually more refreshing!
